3180 Yonge Street Condo Development
As many are aware, an 11-storey condo development has been approved at 3180 Yonge Street between Bedford Park Avenue and Woburn Avenue, adjacent to the school. The development is still in the site plan approval stage.
A demolition permit has been applied for but has not yet been approved. It is unclear at this point when construction will begin.
CSPC has been working with the TCDSB, the developer, the City Planning Department, Councilor Mike Colle’s office and MPP Robin Martin’s office to voice our concerns about the impact the development will have on the health, safety and well-being of Blessed Sacrament students and staff during demolition and construction. Issues such as noise, dust, air quality, traffic congestion and pedestrian safety will impact the school during the long construction process.
We have formed a special committee of parents who will continue to advocate for risk mitigation measures to keep our school community safe and ensure continuity of learning. We will keep the broader parent community informed as new information becomes available.
We have been reassured by the Board that site plan approval will not take place and demolition permits will not be approved until appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place to protect the school.
We have created a Google Form for parents to submit any questions or concerns they may have regarding the development: FORM
